Diana Austin is an author and speaker whose mission is to help children and their families to navigate the challenges of academic and social success, encouraging acquisition of life skills and a life long love of learning. She emphasizes school choice and academic partnerships stressing accountability for teachers, parents and child. Parent empowerment and finding the right fit for the child and family is paramount. Diana has her A.S. degree in Child Development with an emphasis on Disabilities and has her B.A. in Christian Ministries.
She has a cumulative experience of 16 years working in various educational environments. She has had the opportunity to participate in building medical support and I.E.P. teams acting as her children’s advocate. Diana is a mother of three, each with their own specific gifts and struggles. One of which has a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism and A.D.H.D.
In 1988, she began her work in education teaching preschool for 10 years and volunteer teaching all ages in public school, home school, charter, private and independent study environments. Diana was a para-educator, working with special needs and learning disabled students. Her later experience, helping parents teach and prepare their children for school in Apple Valley Unified School District’s school readiness program sparked her passion for helping children and their families. Most recently Diana was on the school council for Independence Charter Academy and volunteered as the ASB Advisor and Drama Teacher.
